Welcome back, everyone. I hope you all had a great holiday season. We have one week left in the buck pool. We got a pleasant surprise over Christmas week when Jeff Darnell sent us pics of the buck he harvested during firearms season in November. Jeff is a Local 18 Sheet Metal worker currently on the LP Maine project. I’ll let Jeff tell the story himself:
“Shot the afternoon of November 23rd in the Wisconsin Rapids area. Was a slow evening when I caught movement of legs coming out of the brush about 125 yds away. After seeing his head, I knew he was big, but didn’t realize how big until walking up on him after I shot. Gave me a 60 yard shot and died 35 yards in front of me. Dressed out at 180 lbs.”
To my knowledge, this buck has not been scored yet, but it looks like it could be a contender for Top 3. I’ll keep you posted when I get more info. Congrats on the great buck, Jeff!
