Congratulations Jason Jandrin journeyman plumber from the Green Bay area currently working in Arizona on this incredible bull.
Straight from the mouth of Jason. So I left Arizona on Thursday after work and drove straight through to Wyoming so that we could be in the mountains by Friday night to scout before we get into camp. We hunted all day Saturday with the bows. Sunday was the opener for gun we spent the morning glassing. Found a bull moose at 400 yards very cool. The clouds rolled in and we got rained and snowed on very heavy which made glassing very difficult nearly impossible. We moved to a different area set up camp and started glassing and found 2 bulls on the mountain side about 3 miles away so we started to move in on them right away in the morning. we made it about half way to where we thought we needed to be and could hear the bulls bugling so we set up and started to talk to them. We definitely we talking there language because that started a screaming match for about a half hour. The bull was closing the distance between us but was not yet committed he was in the heavy timber. I most have said the wrong thing in the call because he lost interest. We continued on with our hike to him to a bench of the mountain where we wanted to get to which had a ton of elk sign. Just like that the bull let out a bugle on the next bench above us I climbed on top of a rock for better visibility and I spotted him at 80 yards away making a rub on a spruce tree. I had to take the shot with his mind on ripping up the tree. I squeezed a round off and dumped him in his tracks. Great story and memories bud, congrats again on this great bull.
