A quick update on our buck pool standings: Luke Elliott’s buck was officially scored at 133 7/8″. That moves Luke into first place with Casey Liegeois’s Kansas buck slipping down into second. So far there have been no reports of bucks taken by anyone in the pool over the weekend, so for the standings look relatively bare with only two bucks taken and just nine days until November.
The all-time list has also been updated with Luke’s buck moving up to #17 on the list. Congrats to Luke on placing a buck well inside the top 20, not an easy feat now that we’re in the 7th season of the pool. Casey’s buck was his third entry onto the all-time list. This year’s sits at #32 on the all-time list and between his other two. Something tells me we haven’t heard the last of Casey this season…
You’re probably tired of hearing it, but I’ll say it again: If you’re a part of the pool and you’ve taken a deer – any deer – whether it’s a monster, a small buck, or an antlerless, it’s to your favor to let Jeff know so we can add it to the special drawing we’ll have at the end of the season. I know there’s been a lot of, “It’s not going to win so I won’t even tell them,” in years past, but we’re trying to change that. If you got a deer we want to know. We celebrate all deer here at the buck pool, not just the giants.
