January 11: Prize Day

I could sit here at make excuses all day why we haven’t done a good job keeping up with the Buck Pool. Work obligations, family obligations, holidays, illnesses, etc. I can speak for myself when I say it’s hard to keep the enthusiasm up after gun season ends and everyone’s attention turns to other things. None of it matters. We didn’t keep up, and once you fall behind it’s hard to catch back up. But, we’re about to make up for it.

Tomorrow, January 11, is our TG Buck Pool party at Packer Fastener. So, leading up to the party we’re going to do a day of prizes here on the website. It’s going to work like this: Starting at 7:00 AM we’ll post a prize winner every half hour. We have 12 prizes to give away, but some of them have multiple winners.

You’ll recall from the rules that we’d pick one random $300 winner out of everyone in the pool who did not get a deer. That winner will be posted at 1:00. Then at 2:00 we’ll announce the $400 winner randomly selected from the people who did harvest deer in 2023. Then at 4:30 we can celebrate with our friends at Packer Fastener.

For the record, we do have more prizes coming, but we haven’t been able to collect them all from the various people who have them, so this is not the end of the prizes yet. We’re just giving out what we have available on-site right now. Keep your eyes on the site for more in the future, and definitely check in early and often tomorrow to see who won. Good luck!
