Congrats to Luke Dubois on his recent hunt in Iowa! Luke is a plumbing apprentice from the De Pere/Wrightstown location. Below is what he sent over for the story and also the doe he bagged earlier this year. Nice work Luke!
“Super long story short. I had 2 does and a fawn feeding in front of me. Soon enough, I hear something coming up the big drainage I used for “clean” access, and all of the does were on alert. Thermals are sucking down the drainage, so I know my scent is smacking him in the face, not to mention my ground scent… but so was the does scent, and he was love drunk. He finally emerged, it’s the same buck from earlier. He charged at the does. They ran past my tree, and stopped, he charged again. At 10 yards, I put the pin forward on his shoulder, knowing I wouldn’t be able to stop him, and let it rip. I watched him tip over about 80 yards away. It was the coolest hunt of my life. Iowa public land.”
“I also shot a doe earlier this year I forgot to submit. I didn’t really take much for pictures because I forgot about the doe part. I did send Isaac some snapchats of me dragging her, so that’s proof lol.”
