Todd Poeschel and Son Doe’s

Congrats to Todd Poeschel on his doe harvest this past week! Todd is a Steamfitter Foreman out of the Altoona location.

“After a very slow start to the season, the boys and I decided to each harvest a doe on Sunday night for some meat. My youngest missed a very large buck during youth so he was excited to redeem himself and did so with a huge doe. I couldn’t pull it up hill myself 😁. Then I heard my oldest son shoot on a farm about 1/2 mile away and knew he scored.  Then I thought it was dads turn…. the youngest and I waited and finally a few more came out. Albeit they were along ways away. I lasered them at 264 yards laid it across her back and sent her to venison heaven.  The whole season…. started out promising with 4 target bucks. The kid missed 1 and I never got a chance.  3 or the 4 are dead due to blue tongue which was horrible in Buffalo, Pepin, and Pierce counties and surrounding areas. Between myself and uncle we found 9. Some area farmers reported more than 20 dead. 3rd time this has happened since 2012. When Buffalo County Outfitters put it online, you know it’s bad. Oh well. There’s 1 left as he was on camera Saturday night. Maybe we’ll get a chance or maybe see what he’ll be as a 5-1/2 yr old.”
