Our raffle prize for Week 4 of the TG Buck Pool was a deer cleaning kit courtesy of Andy Shilt and Katie Brummond of Midwest Sales and Marketing. Here’s the video:

Chad Wehmeyer was the lucky winner of the deer cleaning kit, which he could’ve used earlier this week when he got his bow season buck. I’m sure Chad will get plenty of chances to use the new kit in the future. Chad is a fitter out of Local 400. Congrats to him, and thanks once again to Andy and Katie at Midwest Sales and Marketing for the great prize!

Congrats to Jake Reiter on his impressive mercy kill this week. Jake spotted this buck in a food plot with an arrow in its shoulder and got himself a clean kill with a broadside heart/lungs shot at 20 yards. He said the deer ran only 40 yards before it dropped, where Jake found a crossbow arrow stuck in him. Jake is a fabricator currently working in our Wrightstown fab shop. Congrats gain, Jake, on a successful 2022 season!

Congrats to Chad Wehmeyer on his dandy 9 pt. buck taken on October 6th on his 80 acre property in the Tigerton area! Initially he didn’t feel real great on the shot so he called in the dogs from Muckdogs Deer Rocovery and Training Kennel and they all agreed to track the next morning to be safe. https://www.muckdogsdeerrecovery.com/ Chad said without these guys coming in, he most likely would’ve never found this brute. After a long track and recovery, they found out that the shot was perfect as it hit the lung but with these animals being so tough, you just never know. One other cool thing about the buck is that it weighed 234lbs dressed weight and 284lbs live weight. Chad wished we would have the heaviest deer contest as this would most definitely win that trophy! Maybe we’ll have to add another prize in the future…This doesn’t have a score for the rack yet but we are trying to work that out. Chad might have his taxidermist put the tape to it for now and if needed, we will get an official score at the end of the year. Congrats again Chad on a dandy buck! Chad is a steamfitter for Local 400.

Congrats to young Collin Everard – son of Local 400 plumber Jason Everard – for harvesting this moose disguised as a deer over the weekend. Is the deer that big or is Collin that small? Both? I can’t tell. Regardless, congrats to Jason on an amazing youth hunt. After the pics I’ve seen over the weekend here and on Facebook, I’m wondering if the kids left any bucks for us…

John Buresh mentored his 11 year old son Grant this past weekend on the 2022 youth hunt.  Grant has been hunting for his first buck and this ended up being his year when this 8 pointer came in on Saturday evening.  Grant made a good shot with his 243 and the buck fell in his tracks. Congrats to the both of you on a great hunt!

We have two raffle prizes for Week 3 of the TG Buck Pool: A DeWalt cordless drill with two batteries and a charger as well as a DeWalt 1/4″ impact driver with one battery and a charger courtesy of Cory Tingley at Advanced Fastening Supply. We made one more minor tweak to the prize system this season. This year the choosing of the weekly prize is also randomized. So, in this video you’ll see that we pick the prize first, then we pick the winners.

Hunter Tingley was the winner of the cordless drill and Devin Evers won the impact driver. Hunter is a Local 400 plumbing apprentice currently working at Sister Bay Clinic. Devin is also a Local 400 plumber and he’s working at our Neenah High School project. Congrats to both of you, and thanks once again to Cory Tingley at AFS for the great prizes!

Congrats to Brian Mier for harvesting a nice, mature buck the evening of September 24. Brian was sitting on the ground on public land in Oconto County. He was actually texting some co-workers about a fork he saw when he looked up and saw this guy standing 20 yards from him. The buck got spooked and ran off but Brian was able to call him back in with some rattling and grunting. He got another chance at 20 yards and succeeded. Brian is a Local 18 sheet metal journeyman currently working out of our Wrightstown facility. Congrats, Brian, on a great hunt!

We have one on the board! Local 400 steamfitter apprentice Luke Elliott took down this fork with a compound bow over the weekend. Luke is currently working on Rob Yaeger’s crew up at Sister Bay Clinic. I don’t think this one is going to finish in the money, but we congratulate Luke and thank him for breaking the ice. Well done!

Congrats to Rollie Ducat with his beautiful 8 point buck taken somewhere up north! Also in the picture is Rollie’s beautiful wife Harriet. For those of you that don’t know Rollie, he is a retired foreman plumber that worked out the TG Green Bay area for more than 40 years and many of us have had the pleasure to have worked for him! I’m thinking that next year he is a must to have in our TG Buck Pool to show us young bucks how it’s done! Congrats again Rollie and make sure to get that surgery scheduled to have that horseshoe removed out of you know what!!

Our raffle prize for the second week of the TG Buck Pool is a welding assortment courtesy of Nick Deja at Airgas. As we said last week, we’ve changed up the name drawing this year and have gone to the web based Wheel of Names instead of pulling names from a bucket. We were able to get a screen recording of it, though, and here’s how it went down.

Congrats to Greg Sikorski! Greg is a Project Manager working out of our De Pere Office. Thanks again to Nick and Airgas for the prize donation.

The calendar is flipping to October this weekend and the weather is cooling off a bit, so I’m hoping we get a few names on the board this weekend. Good luck out there!

Respect to the fathers in this pool for putting their kids’ success before their own. It was Cory Veeser’s son, Tanner, on opening weekend. Then last Friday evening Levi Glen – son of Central Wisconsin Account Manager Wayne Glen – took down this 8-pointer in Portage County. Credit to Sheet Metal Journeyman Ben Dickey and his tracking dog for the assist in helping Levi find his buck. Congratulations, Levi!
