Contest rules
One entry per participant using any legal DNR-approved method — compound bow, recurve bow, crossbow, rifle, muzzleloader, or any lawful fair-chase technique. No high-fence hunting.
Hunting can take place anywhere in the U.S.
If you harvest multiple deer, only your highest-scoring buck counts. Example: a 140″ Iowa bow buck, a 145″ Wisconsin bow buck, then a 160″ Wisconsin rifle buck — you’d enter the 160″.
Submit all deer taken regardless — we’ll sort out the entry as the season progresses.
Season runs Sept 12, 2026 through Jan 3, 2027. Metro sub-unit extensions are not included. If you shoot on Jan 4 and are tracking the next morning, notify Jeff Blohowiak immediately.
If the top-5 finishers are close at season end, Jeff Blohowiak will score each buck independently to ensure a fair result.
Scoring

Use an official Pope & Young or Boone & Crockett scorer.

Report your deer, send photos, and submit scores using the TG Buck Pool app — results will be posted to the website throughout the season.
