Brett McAdams added a buck to his season this weekend. It’s his second deer of the year (that we know of) following a doe he took about a month ago.
On Saturday, October 17, Brett headed out for an afternoon sit in Leelanau County, Michigan, on an extremely windy day. Late in the afternoon, this buck came out of the swamp and passed his stand at 30 yards, but there was no presentable shot. The buck slipped into a large patch of autumn olive, and Brett wasn’t about to let him walk.
Instead of staying put, Brett climbed down and stalked around to where he figured the buck would come out. The wind was covering his noise, which worked in his favor. He knelt behind a bush and waited for what felt like forever. Then the buck popped out at 20 yards and locked right on to him. Brett was ready, though, and his bow shot to the vitals dropped the buck.
When he’s not thinning the lower Michigan deer herd, Brett is a Service Technician in our Traverse City location. Congrats, Brett, on a well-earned buck and a great hunt!
