Caor Veeser was able to put the smack down on a great buck in Door County. Cory is an Account Manager out of our De Pere location. Here is his story:
I was sitting along the edge of a cornfield and a stand of hardwoods on a warm, calm evening. Everything was quiet except for what seemed like 40 squirrels running around, rustling through the leaves and keeping me entertained. Then, what I thought was just another squirrel making its way through the leaves caught my attention. When I looked closer, it turned out to be a doe!
Shortly after, a buck followed her trail and presented me with an opportunity. I took the shot, and the rest is history!
I felt confident that I had made a good shot, but I wanted to give the deer plenty of time before beginning the recovery. My boy Tanner had convinced me to get a tracking dog to help with situations just like this. He reached out to another fellow Tweet Garot employee, Hunter Falish, who came out with his tracking dog to lend a hand.
Together, they followed the trail, and it didn’t take long before the dog led them to a nearby thicket where the buck was laying. It was pretty amazing and a lot of fun to watch the dog work its way right to the deer!
It was a great evening in the woods and an experience I’ll remember for a long time. I’m especially thankful to Tanner, Hunter, and his dog for helping make the recovery possible!
