Journeyman Steamfitter Tanner Wunder, out of our DePere/Wrightstown location, tagged a great buck last night on public ground in Oconto County.
Tanner was set up on the edge of a marsh, and the moment came right at last light, the kind of finish every hunter hopes for. It’s also his first Wisconsin public-land buck, which makes it even sweeter. Public-land deer don’t come easy, and anyone who’s put in the time knows how much it takes to be in the right spot when it counts.
He’s not putting a tape on him, but Tanner’s best guess puts the buck somewhere in the 95 to 100 inch range. That’s a deer worth being proud of, and a strong early entry for the pool.
Congratulations, Tanner! Great hunt, great buck!
