Congrats to Adam with his first ever bow kill he was able to pull off recently! Here is Adam’s story:

“So it happened on my last weekend to hunt.”So it happened on my last weekend to hunt. I got into my stand about 530am, at about 7am the neighbor dog was barking non stop for 15 minutes. I thought the day in that stand was going to be over. So my thought was to sit until 8am and then regroup and go try somewhere else. As time approaches I’m getting ready to pack my gear up and move, I see a doe walk in, then get chased out by this buck.  So I grab my bow and he gets spooked and darts off.  So I’m watching him slowly walk back and I draw on him waiting to walk out from behind a tree. As he walks forward I fire my bow, as that happens he jumped and turned at the last second.  I shot through his abdominal area through his liver into a lung. I get down from the stand to see if i can find a blood trail and didn’t find a thing. Shot him at 8am and recovered at 2pm had to do a grid pattern throughout the woods to recover him. What a day!  Not a good way to shoot my first bow buck but it all worked out!”

Great work Adam for the work put in on the recovery of the animal! Looks like you will have some great memories and a full freezer this year!

Charlie and I had to take a ride to Wisconsin Rapids for some work related reasons and while we were there, I arranged to have Justin Beck’s bow buck there to be scored. After putting some tape to it, I came up with a gross score of 140 1/8″ putting his bow buck into second place in the pool! This was a beautiful rack with some serious mass! Congrats again to Justin!

Congrats to Josh Andrews on a new Buck Pool record with a score of 155 5/8″!! Josh was able to bring in the rack at the De Pere location and I can tell you that the pictures didn’t do this buck any justice! I’ve put tape to many deer and I’ve never had any tines measure over 12″ and he had one measure 13 7/8″! Pretty awesome buck and thanks for bringing it in to the office for all to see!

Congrats to Adam Baumgart on his 2022 gun buck! Adam is a sheetmetal apprentice. Here is his story:

“Here is my opening morning gun buck I shot. It all started out with a doe hanging around my food plot. Saw him sneaking in from south so I grabbed the trusty .270, which is my only rifle. And fired a shot. He ran 50 yards and crashed into a small grove of young pine trees. Thanks for putting on the contest, still hoping to bag one with my bow.”

Nice work Adam and good luck with your bow!

Mike was able to unofficially put some tape to this buck and he came up with a score of 131 5/8″. Mike didn’t have much to add but he did mention that this one came off of public land from a deer drive in the Medford area. Nice work Mike! Mike is an Estimator/Designer from the Tomahawk office. Congrats to Austin Martinson on his nice 9 pt. buck taken during the gun season. Here is his story:

“Here is the buck that I shot Saturday night. I saw it on one of my cameras Friday night around 4 but I wasn’t in the stand. I went out Saturday afternoon and he came in with a doe around the same time. He kept pushing off this small 8 trying to get to his doe. Eventually he gave me the shot and ran 20 yards into a creek bottom.”

Austin is a Design Intern working in the Wrightstown Manufacturing Facility.

Andy Goetz was able to harvest this nice buck on Thanksgiving! Here is what Andy had to say:

“Got this 9pt on Thanksgiving morning behind our house. Sat in solid fog for 3 hours before it lifted and I could see anything. Went into the house to get my “deer recovery” helper. I had shot a doe earlier in the season with one of my other daughters in the stand. Was a fun season!”

Congrats Andy on a great season and spending quality time with your kids! Andy is an Account Manager based out of the Wisconsin Rapids office.

Rob Yaeger sent in some pics of how their camp did during the gun season. Looks like he has the youth off to a great start to their young hunting careers!! Congrats to the boys, Grant and Owen at the Yaeger camp on a successful hunt this year! Rob is an account manager working out of the De Pere office.

• Owen my godson (11) and my son Grady (10) both shot their first bucks half hour apart.

• Owen big body spike buck, Grady a mutant 8 pointer that looked like a fork!

• Both boys helped in the field dressing and processing of the deer!

• Proud Dad moment no doubt!!

Congrats to Greg Wierzba on his dandy 10 pt. taken with his rifle! Here is Greg’s story:

“I typically carry my bow during the 10 day gun season and have been for years. However this year a week before gun season my Dad passed on his 30-06 rifle that he custom built 61 years ago from a mail order Army Surplus dealer for $24.00  To say the gun has character and memories is an understatement. I put it to good use at 6:50 opening day with the attached main frame 10Pt  18  ½ spread.”

Pretty cool story on using his dad’s old rifle, makes this one extra special! Greg is an account manager working out of the De Pere office.

Chad Heise sent this in yesterday from hi bow hunt the Wednesday before the gun opener. Congrats Chad on a great buck taken with your bow! Chad Heise is a sheet metal journeyman working out of the Wrightstown shop specializing in the food & beverage sector.

“I shot this 7 pointer November 16 . I’ve had pictures of this buck from early summer to the day I shot him. A week prior my father and I both seen him while hunting but never came in close enough. That Wednesday I got out to the stand after work knowing I was taking a chance with the short time frame to hunt until dark. But he showed up 40 min after I got to the stand . He stood at 28 yards for 10min facing me eating in the food plot finally turning broadside I took the shot and punched threw the shoulder. He ran roughly 80 yards to the woods and piled up 18 1/2 spread. Oconto county private.”

John Buresh landed a great buck hunting with his son Drew. Here is what John had to say:

“I shot this 8 pointer on opening Saturday evening while sitting with my son Drew.  We watched this buck at 240 yards by some red whips on the very edge of the neighboring property for 10-15 minutes.  The buck stood and watched the neighbor hunter in his ladder stand, we don’t know if the neighbor saw him or didn’t shoot because the deer was on the property boundary. Finally the buck decided to head towards us. He walked straight towards us until turning broadside at 120 yards, game over.  Good buck, great hunt and the best part was being with my son to enjoy the excitement.  I did offer the shot to Drew but he was bit nervous and really exited so he told me to take it.”

This is what hunting is all about if you ask me! Great job John showing your son how it’s done. Pretty sure you’ll have a future hunter on your hands in the near future. The smile says it all! John is a Project Executive from the De Pere office.

Jesse VanLaanen gets another buck on the same stand days after his bow buck! Jesse shot this on opening weekend in Marinette county. It’s looking like our top 3 is going to be super close this year! This is yet another contender for the top 3 money places. Congrats Jesse on another great buck and a year to remember for a long time! Jesse is an Account Manager working out of De Pere specializing in industrial HVAC.
